Kilátókő (“Lookout Rock”), also known as Pest–Buda egyesítése, the unification of Pest and Buda
Two small bronze figures stand on a stone split in two: a crowned prince on one half and a princess on the other, reaching out to each other across the gap. The gap is the Danube, and the tops of the two halves are the two cities in bronze relief: hilly Buda with its castle on one side and the flat street grid of Pest on the other. The legend of the two lovers kept apart by the river stands for the union of Buda, Óbuda and Pest into one city, Budapest, in 1873.
